Safety Tips for tourists in Camps Bay
- Photocopy your ID & Passport and have the local SAPS certify it - then lock the original in a safe and only carry the copies.
- Be very careful of allowing strangers that you meet at public bars and clubs, to come back to your residence, as there are those that prey on unwary tourists
- Do not be tempted into trying / purchasing any local drugs from people you meet at social places nor ever order any product to be delivered to your residence, as you will be inviting a very dangerous element into our home that could potentially be harmful to you and your roommates as well as a threat to your assets.
- Do not allow your personal handbags and/or belongings to be out of your direct vision at all times when on the beach or at restaurants, clubs etc.
- Never accept drinks you have not personally seen being opened and never leave open drinks unattended on the bar or anywhere whilst visiting the rest rooms at clubs etc.
- Do not venture to remote areas of clubs, parks or other public spaces alone or when invited to by strangers.
- Remember - an easy target is an invitation for crime - keep windows, doors and gates secured to ensure you discourage opportunistic criminals & arm the house alarm (ensure U know how it works)
- Make sure all house mates have 021 438 2000 number loaded for any emergencies.
