Firearm Training

In keeping with our motto of safety and security for all Camps Bay Citizens we discussed at the CBW meetings about owners who have firearms but feel untrained and therefore uneasy about their firearm ownership - many of you expressed a wish for education. Training and education leads to responsible and safe firearm ownership and improved chance of home defence.

I am not necessarily encouraging CBW members to carry their firearms when on patrol - this is primarily for home defence purposes. Please refrain from using the CBW as motivation when renewing your firearm licence as this can jeopardise your application.

Those interested in participating in a Firearm Education Course MUST bring the folliowing:

• Current, Valid Firearm Licence
• Own firearms - ensure ALL firearms in a safe/unloaded state
• Holster and Belt
• Own Ammo
• Eye Protection
• Ear Protection
• Hat
• Warm Jacket

Course will commence with theory in Church hall till 13h00 after which we will drive to range in Bo Kaap.

Course fee will be R100 cash - this covers range admin fees, targets, range visitor fees, small fee for instructors (2 of them) - its a great deal.

Trainers instructions to be adhered to at all time. ANY remote signs/smell of alcohol intake etc. will be automatic refusal of entry. SAFETY FIRST - DIPLOMACY SECOND
